I am a fitness junkie, a sneaker connoisseur, a lover of anything pink, a daily you tube user, and a certified personal trainer and group x instructor. It is my mission to show each client, gym member and class participant just what their bodies can do. My fitness philosophy is focused around "What can your body do?", changing the focus from what we look like to how our bodies perform and function. The Fitness with a Purpose Newsletter and Blog is a place where you can find tips, tools, and tactics on how to make fitness a lifestyle and maximize each workout and meal to enable you to become as fit and healthy as possible. This is also a place where I share my personal experiences with my own fitness and quest to see just what my body can do when I set a goal and do what ever is possible to achieve that goal. Consistent action produces consistent results!

What can your body do?

Summer is here! Get out in the heat, burn fat, and build strength.

I am so hard on myself.

I look at myself in the mirror with a skeptic eye and a critical perspective.

My confidence is dependent on how I feel when I look in the mirror.

I tend to concentrate on what I do not like, rather than concentrate on the strength and fitness of my body.

Cellulite on my thighs and bum has me in constant worry; then I am not so good to myself with my words. (That's the truth.)

I am 31 and I would like to change how I talk to myself when looking at my body in the mirror.

One client of mine yesterday said, " You should focus on what your body can do and not just what it looks like."

Genius!!!!

This is what my body can do:
  • Run a 5k under 25 minutes
  • Squat 80lbs 15xs
  • Do 3 sets of 25 push ups
  • Train 7 clients, teach 2 classes, and run 4 miles in one day
  • Train 11 clients in 13 hours
  • Ring $3000.00 in an 8 hour shift, walking approximately 6 miles in a night (Back in my waitress days)
Cellulite and the size of my pants is a personal issue. What I would like is for it to not hang over my head anymore. In the grand scheme of things, it's quite trivial, considering I am in the best shape of my life. I am enjoying my life and living my dream. I guess I could give up chocolate, coffee, wine, and cheese and live with smooth legs, if my genetics are predisposed to this. Or, I could change my perspective and think of the things my body can do, rather than how it looks.

What can your body do?

You are fully loaded and equipped because God made you. He didn't make any mistakes when he made you. That means he meant for you to have cellulite on your thighs and butt. It is up to you to now think and believe that you are fully loaded and equipped.
