I am a fitness junkie, a sneaker connoisseur, a lover of anything pink, a daily you tube user, and a certified personal trainer and group x instructor. It is my mission to show each client, gym member and class participant just what their bodies can do. My fitness philosophy is focused around "What can your body do?", changing the focus from what we look like to how our bodies perform and function. The Fitness with a Purpose Newsletter and Blog is a place where you can find tips, tools, and tactics on how to make fitness a lifestyle and maximize each workout and meal to enable you to become as fit and healthy as possible. This is also a place where I share my personal experiences with my own fitness and quest to see just what my body can do when I set a goal and do what ever is possible to achieve that goal. Consistent action produces consistent results!

"Whenever a warrior decides to do something, he must go all the way, but he must take responsibility for what he does. No matter what he does, he must know first why he is doing it, and then he must proceed with his actions without having doubts or remorse about them". Carlos Castaneda

My twin sister posted this quote on her blog, http://mistylmoreno.blogspot.com.

I am a warrior because:

1. Today, as the sun aggressively took all of the energy from my legs during the Cougar 5K, I knew that if I stopped and walked for only 20 seconds, that I could finish the race with my head held high and with a mission accomplished. (24:17, personal best today, even with the walk)

2. When I wanted to withdraw from the Splash and Dash due to fear of my ability to complete the 750m open water swim, I told myself that I could not and would not, though I wanted to desperately, break my commitment to myself. The only goal was to finish the race, even if it meant swimming on my back. (I swam freestyle the entire course, and came out of the water in 18:+ minutes :)

3. I am living the dream I wrote out on paper, and though I have sometimes wanted to run back home to Mama and a cold beer at the bar I worked at for several years, I committed to being more than I expected I could be.

4. At the end of the day, laying my head on the pillow, I am able to sleep at night. My heart is settled, filled, and I live and decide with integrity and compassion.

5. I am determined to make a difference in each client's and student's life, even if it's just the small act of revealing that even I have found myself 5 cookies deep in overindulgence, including a large glass of whole milk. Yum:)

6. I am dedicated to not selling my self short, living up to my potential, and accomplishing everything I had written down on waitress notepads through out the many years of working a job that was a means to an end.

7. I take responsibility for my work, my effort, and when it is not up to par.

8. I know that success comes when you possess consistent focus and consistent action.

Why are you a warrior?

I'm a warrior because I am not doing what I want to do but I am okay with that. I've settled but not in a bad way. I recognize the importance of family and know that not all of your dreams are pursueable. I'm a warrior because I stay calm with Maximus now. I know that if I get upset, he will in return. I'm a warrior because I recognize that being "in love" is not what a relationship is all about. Settling into the relationship and making it working no matter the differences is what love is all about.
I'm a warrior because even though I don't necessarily agree with all of my decisions, I make them knowing that the Lord will forgive me.
