"Every woman wants a nice firm butt and slim thighs- including me." It's hard work! But I love it!
There's nothing like an afternoon run for me. Heat, traffic, the fatigue of the day, and a new play list to run the streets of Austin to. Some days I have themed runs. "Chase the Shade Run." "Pray for Red Lights Run." "Winning the Race Run." And then there's those " Give the Side Walks Everything You Have Runs." Ahh, I love those! They don't happen often for me, unless in a race, and maybe not even then. But sometimes you just have that run where everything just feels good. You have your legs. You are properly hydrated. You have extra energy. Shoes are laced just right. Your mind is calm and your spirit is full. Your stride is effortless. Impact is minimal. It's as if you are barely hitting the ground. It's that kind of run that you are reminded of why you lace up your shoes in the first place.
I will admit though that the weight room is a close second to the afternoon runs. Download a play list, check out the traffic in the gym, determine what body parts to do according to the equipment and space available, and pretend I am right back on Boon Street playground. I do love to lift weights, do pushups off of various benches, work my "glutes" off to finally do an unassisted pull up. (One!)
It makes me feel strong. I enjoy seeing the changes in my strength and my body. Plain and simple, it's just so much fun. I get to try all of the exercises I do in my living room after I read every fitness magazine I can get my fingertips on. I definitely am a gym girl.
This Blog will be my voice about my own personal fitness with a purpose. It will contain my stories of my afternoon runs, a leg workout in the gym, the exercises I showed my clients, a 3% body fat composition loss in a 10 pack, and the struggles I come across in my career working to help people feel good about their body and their place in life. It will be personal. And it will be about the thoughts in my head. So I promise it will keep you interested. :)
"What You Cannot See, You Cannot Change." So this is my place to change what I see. Fun!
