I am a fitness junkie, a sneaker connoisseur, a lover of anything pink, a daily you tube user, and a certified personal trainer and group x instructor. It is my mission to show each client, gym member and class participant just what their bodies can do. My fitness philosophy is focused around "What can your body do?", changing the focus from what we look like to how our bodies perform and function. The Fitness with a Purpose Newsletter and Blog is a place where you can find tips, tools, and tactics on how to make fitness a lifestyle and maximize each workout and meal to enable you to become as fit and healthy as possible. This is also a place where I share my personal experiences with my own fitness and quest to see just what my body can do when I set a goal and do what ever is possible to achieve that goal. Consistent action produces consistent results!

There's no place like home! Absolutely nothing like it!
I am originally from Narragansett, RI. A small beach town in which I truly became the woman that I am. My fondest childhood memories were made there. Runs on the beach. Little league games. My best friends! And my family. Whenever I return, I am re-born, rejuvenated, and always reminded of what is actually important in life.
I ran almost every day there. What a difference 85 degrees makes! I had my breath. I could feel my legs. I didn't get tired the first mile. I actually felt like I was running, unlike how the oppressive 100+ degree weather here in Austin can make me feel when running the Town Lake trail. My father ran with me as well, and now his little girl sets the pace. I have been waiting for that day. However, at 60 years of age, he still had me breathing quite hard.

Returning home also enabled me to feel passionate about my work again, re-energized, and more motivated to inspire others to change their bodies and their lives. Sometimes my passion can become my burden, for everything that I have and am is invested in each of my clients. When there is success, I feel it. When there is the feeling of failure, I am empathetic. I feel and see everything. There are moments that I do not sleep if I know that a client is having a particularly difficult time losing weight and seeing results. There are also moments when I just may not have anymore to give, for I am human as well, and I feel fat at times and absolutely do not feel like lifting a single weight.

However, when I was running on the beach, and now I can actually battle the wind with strength and triumph, I knew that the run was filling me up with vitality and passion. I knew that all I needed was a vacation, a visit back home to where it just makes sense. Long talks with Dad. Dinners with Aunt Donna. Laughs with my mother. Dancing with my friends. Wii humiliation with my cousins. I just needed fun.
