What is your New Year Health Plan? What are OUR objectives?
January 5th marks the start date of our Fitness Game Plan for the New Year. We have had an enjoyable time with family and friends, eaten our share of rich comfort food, and raised our glasses to several cheers! Now it's time to get back to our daily routines, work and exercise schedule, and begin to make true progress on our Health Goals. As we enter the new year with several resolutions, I ask you to take a moment and organize your personal goals and objectives for your exercise regimen. Guided by goals and a realistic plan of action you will inevitably experience long lasting results.
MAKING FITNESS A LIFESTYLE: DESIGNING YOUR FITNESS GAME PLAN
1. What are your fitness goals for 2009? Short term (6 wks) and long term (12 wks)
2. What is your realistic exercise frequency and duration for each week?
3. How will you improve your nutrition and lifestyle to complement your fitness goals?
4. How will you implement adequate rest and recovery that increases your energy and improves how your body feels physically and mentally?
5. What do you need and desire to accomplish daily, weekly, monthly, and annually to feel successful and fulfilled in all areas of your life?
Taking inventory of each area of your life will help you develop a game plan for the new year to come. I firmly believe it's not just about the physical state of your body! Your body is a blue print of your mind! Therefore the health of your body is dependent on the health of your mind and your thought process. Establishing a fitness plan for your body will directly complement the fitness of your emotional health!
Lets make a COMMITMENT TO CHANGE! Success of your exercise program and our partnership will be dependent on CONSISTENCY, INTENSITY, NUTRITION AND LIFESTYLE HABITS, ADEQUATE REST AND RECOVERY, STRESS MANAGEMENT, AND EMOTIONAL HEALTH! Change will vary according to age, genetics, hormones, stress, attitude and self-esteem, muscular skeletal imbalances and injuries, and body fat composition.
Lets begin today holding ourselves accountable, taking full responsibility of our health and fitness! Know your goals and your weekly exercise regimen. Develop your weekly nutrition program and begin planning your daily meals and snacks. Track your progress. What pants or dress are you working towards fitting into? How do you want to feel when summer rolls around?
With hard work, a focused effort, determination, motivation, and an organized fitness game plan, you will achieve the results you absolutely desire!
I am looking forward to helping each and every one of you achieve your goals. In 2009, let's be the best we can be!
